Tab is a simple lightweight chair that utilizes the strength and flexibility of timber.

I designed the chair for an exhibition at 100% Design to promote the use of wood in product and furniture design. The chair was sponsored by Wood for Good and Middlesex University.

The chair is made from 4mm Birch plywood and is manufactured using a CNC router. Two chairs are produced from one sheet of plywood. The chair is supplied flat packed in one paper bag with a plywood handle, and just clips together without any fixings or glue.

A smaller version for children is also available made from 3mm Birch plywood. Four chairs are produced per sheet.

The chair was a huge success at the exhibition. I received excellent press coverage particularly from Blueprint Magazine, who published a piece about me and the chair. Many other magazines including FX published pictures and comments about the chair.
